The Oakville Blobs

The Oakville Blobs

The Oakville Blobs are one of the strangest unsolved cases in Washington state history. In August 1994, the small logging town of Oakville was hit by six separate storms of translucent, gelatinous goo that smeared windshields, sickened residents for months, and killed pets and wildlife on contact. When lab results came back showing human white blood cells, digestive bacteria, and cells with no nucleus at all in the same substance, the primary samples disappeared from a state lab before anyone could explain how those three findings could coexist. Now, in 2025 and 2026, the goo may be falling again in the same corner of the state.
